Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, what information TryNectar ("we", "us", "our") collects when you use our website at mynectarai.com (the "Service"), how we use it, who we share it with, and what choices and rights you have. We wrote this document to be readable. If anything is unclear, please contact us.
1. Who we are
TryNectar is an online platform that lets registered users design, customize and chat with virtual AI companions. The Service is operated as an internet product available worldwide. By creating an account or interacting with the Service you agree to the practices described in this policy and to our Terms of Service.
2. Information we collect
We try to collect as little personal information as possible while still being able to operate a reliable, personalized Service. The categories below describe what we may collect.
2.1 Account information
When you register, we collect your email address, a hashed password, and an optional display name. We never store your password in plain text. If you sign in via a third-party identity provider (where supported), we receive a unique identifier and your email address from that provider.
2.2 Conversation content
Messages you exchange with your AI companion are stored on our servers so that the AI can maintain context and memory across sessions. Conversation history is associated with your account and is not visible to other users.
2.3 Profile and preference data
This includes the AI personalities you create, the appearance and mood settings you choose, and any saved favorites. This data exists only to power your personalized experience.
2.4 Technical and usage data
We automatically collect basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, the pages you visit, the buttons you click, the date and time of your visit, and approximate location derived from your IP. This information is used in aggregate for analytics, fraud prevention and product improvement.
2.5 Payment data
If you purchase a subscription, payment information (such as card details) is processed by our PCI-compliant payment partners. We never store your full card number on our servers. We do receive a transaction reference, the amount, and the status of the payment.
2.6 Communications
If you email us or reply to a system message, we keep a copy of the correspondence and your contact information so that we can follow up.
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To operate the Service, authenticate users and keep your account secure.
- To generate AI responses and maintain conversational memory.
- To personalize the Service to your preferences (appearance, mood, recommended companions).
- To process payments, send receipts and manage subscriptions.
- To detect, investigate and prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
- To send you essential service emails (password resets, billing notices) and, if you opt in, occasional product news.
- To improve the Service through aggregated, anonymized analytics.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use the content of your private chats to train public foundation models without your explicit, separate consent.
4. Legal bases for processing (EEA / UK users)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process personal data on the following legal bases: (a) performance of a contract with you when you create an account and use the Service; (b) our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the Service; (c) your consent for optional features such as marketing emails; and (d) compliance with legal obligations.
5. Sharing of information
We share data only when necessary, and only with the categories of recipients listed below.
5.1 Service providers
We use trusted vendors for hosting, content delivery, analytics, payment processing, email delivery, language model inference, customer support and security monitoring. These providers act on our instructions and are bound by appropriate data protection commitments.
5.2 Legal and safety
We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required to comply with applicable law, a lawful request from a public authority, or to protect the rights, property or safety of TryNectar, our users or the public.
5.3 Business transfers
If TryNectar is involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, your information may be transferred. We will notify users in advance of any change in ownership or use of personal data.
6. International data transfers
The Service is operated globally and your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than the one in which you reside, including the United States. When we transfer personal data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses where required.
7. Data retention
We keep account information for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and the personal data associated with it at any time from settings. Some information may be retained for a limited period afterwards if it is needed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes or enforce agreements. Aggregated, anonymized data may be retained indefinitely because it can no longer be linked to you.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest, hashed passwords, role-based access control, audit logging, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure, so we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to enable any additional account protection options we offer.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion — ask us to delete your account and personal data.
- Restriction or objection — ask us to limit certain processing.
- Portability — receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
- Withdrawal of consent — for any processing based on consent.
- Complaint — lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the contact page. We will respond within the time frames required by applicable law.
10. Children
TryNectar is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us so we can remove the account and the associated data.
11. Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We may also use first-party analytics cookies to understand how the Service is used in aggregate. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling required cookies may affect core functionality.
12. AI-specific considerations
Conversations with your AI companion are processed by language models in order to generate responses. Inputs may be temporarily passed to model providers for inference. We work only with providers that contractually agree not to use Service data to train their public models. AI responses are generated content and may sometimes be inaccurate or unexpected; please use judgment when relying on them.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by a prominent notice on the Service before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when the policy was last revised.
14. Contact
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or our handling of your personal data, please contact us. We aim to respond to every inquiry within five business days.
